WASHINGTON – Historic Washington State Park will host an opening reception for the “In Their Wallet” exhibit on Saturday, May 20, at 1:30 p.m. at the 1874 Visitor Information Center, 100 SW Morrison St., Washington. Ed Nelson, numismatic expert, will speak at the reception.
“In Their Wallet” tells the story of the many challenges facing early Arkansans as they began building an economy with a sound money system. The exhibit features issues unique to the nineteenth century and addresses questions that remain in the present-day about the proper form and role of money in society.
