The Arkansas State Police remembers the life of K-9 Officer Zomby, who was laid to rest May 6th following a lengthy battle with kidney failure. Born on July 8, 2010, in the Netherlands, Zomby was brought to the United States in 2013 and received his K-9 officer training under the direction of Major Roby Rhoads, K-9 Coordinator for the ASP.
Zomby faithfully served the ASP for 5 years and worked as a dual-purpose K-9, where he was an invaluable partner to many agencies in Southwest Arkansas and across the state until his retirement in March 2018. His career stats for ASP narcotics seizures:
93.4 lbs. of cocaine
688 lbs. of marijuana
2 lbs. of methamphetamine
$525,107.00 (proceeds from the narcotics sales)
We’re grateful for Zomby’s faithful service.
Zomby was attached to State Police Troop “G” in Hope.
